1 Peter

Sermon Series

To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

These words start the letter we know as 1 Peter. It was written to an audience that was experiencing persecution beyond what most North American Christians experience now. The letter served to unify the church in a way that set them apart as the people of God. While our situation is not the same, the message of 1 Peter is still relevant; the people of God are set apart to display who He is.
