Nicodemus, much like most of us, is probably afraid of what others think of him, so he comes to Jesus under the cover of night. Nicodemus, much like all of us, is in need of re-making. The important thing is he comes to Jesus, and Jesus doesn’t accuse or ridicule him. After all, “God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him (John 3:17).” Jesus knows us as intimately as possible, and he still chose the cross. All of our pain, mistakes, inadequacies, he sees them, and he loves us still. The question is, will we allow the love of Jesus to transform us?
